Sustainability at Dead Duck Brewery
Brewing with Nature in Mind – Right Here in the New Forest
At Dead Duck Brewery, we believe that great beer shouldn’t come at the planet’s expense. Nestled in the heart of the New Forest, we’re deeply connected to the environment around us—and we’re committed to keeping it wild, green, and thriving. Here’s how we’re brewing responsibly:
Smarter Water Use
Cooling water from our brewing process doesn’t go to waste. We repurpose it for cleaning and brewing, cutting down our water usage and energy footprint.
Zero-Waste Brewing
- Spent grain? It goes straight to a local chicken farmer—happy hens, zero landfill.
- Used hops? We compost them right here on site, feeding the soil that grows our next crop of hops.
100% Green Energy
All our electricity is 100% renewable, so every pint you enjoy is brewed with wind, sun, and a clean conscience.
Better Packaging & Festivals
- We use 100% recycled aluminium cans, and encourage recycling after use.
- Our 4- and 6-pack holders are fully compostable—no plastic, no problem.
- Our festival glasses are also fully compostable, breaking down naturally with no microplastics left behind.
- Our casks are reused hundreds of times, dramatically reducing waste compared to single-use alternatives.
Local, Sustainable, and Proud
From grain to glass, we’re doing everything we can to reduce our footprint while crafting exceptional beer. Because sustainability isn’t just good practice—it’s part of who we are.
